First day

This festival of Deepawali lasts for 5 days. On the first day of which Dhanteras takes place. The second day

The second day of Deepawali is celebrated as Hell Chaturthi because on this day Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasura. This day is also celebrated as Chhoti Diwali by some people. On this day 5 lamps are lit outside the house. According to the ancient tradition, on this day, people put lamp mascara in their eyes. They believe that it does not spoil eyes.

The third day

The third day is the main day of Deepawali festival. Mahalakshmi is worshiped, as well as Saraswati, the goddess mother of lore, and Lord Ganesha. On this day, Rangoli is made in the house and a variety of sweets are made.

The fourth day

Govardhan Puja is performed on the fourth day of Deepawali because on this day Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain on one of his fingers to save people from the torrential rain caused by Indra’s anger. On this day, women perform traditional puja by keeping cow dung outside the house.

The last day

The last day of the festival of Deepawali is celebrated as Bhai Dooj. On this day, the sister ties the sutras to the brother, along with applying tilak, feeds them sweets, and in return, the brothers promise to protect them and give them a good gift. This day is somewhat like the Rakshabandhan festival.
